Famous computer game company Riot Games have a history of putting on special online events for their most beloved properties that look to drive player engagement. For their big summer event, centred around the Star Guardians; characters from League of Legends (on PC) and Wild Rift (on mobile), Riot came to us looking for an immersive online experience that would best showcase the games’ lore and exclusive content available to fans. As a global event, the experience is available in 22 languages.
Star Guardian 2022
An immersive web based experience for fans of Riot Games’ Star Guardian universe, looking to do a deep dive on their favourite characters and the worlds they inhabit.
A thrilling journey through the stars.
The experience explodes onto users screens with an interactive, NanoGL animated interstellar flight following two of the Star Guardians as they lead users to the central hub.
A treasure trove of content.
Depending on what platform fans use (desktop or mobile), they are directed to the relevant game’s “timeline”: a sleek looking, easy to navigate page where users can find a series of hotspots (or star nodes as they are referred to) each leading to exclusive content, deep dives on specific characters, further exploration of the Star Guardian universe etc.
Repeat visits rewarded.
Upon launch, some of the star nodes will be locked but these will become accessible as new features are highlighted on the platform and made available on a weekly basis. And for even more Star Guardian goodness, hardcore fans will be rewarded with easter eggs in the form of a mini game and exclusive artwork.
